The Dilemma
Ava and Kenji are part of the school’s robotics club, preparing for a big competition. One day, as they are working late, Ava notices another team member, Mia, being bullied by a group of older students. The bullies are making fun of Mia’s ideas and telling her she should quit the club. Ava feels a surge of anger and wants to confront the bullies immediately. However, she also knows that acting out of anger might escalate the situation and could get her into trouble. On the other hand, she could choose to ignore the situation, hoping it will resolve itself, but she feels that would be wrong. Ava remembers a time when she was bullied, and how much it helped when someone stood up for her. She realizes that true courage might mean standing up for Mia in a way that is thoughtful and helps resolve the situation without causing more harm.
