The Dilemma

Obi and Lucia have been inseparable since the third grade, always pushing each other to try new things. One day, during lunch, they notice a group of students teasing a new student, Alex, who seems shy and overwhelmed. Lucia whispers to Obi, "We should do something." Obi feels the same way but hesitates, knowing that standing up to the bullies might make them a target too. Lucia suggests they could either ignore it and hope a teacher intervenes, or they could stand up for Alex and invite him to join them at their table. Obi is torn. He knows that standing up for Alex is the right thing to do, but he worries about the social repercussions. Obi The choice is theirs to make.
