The Dilemma

Clara and Chen are working on a school project at Clara's house. Clara is excited about her ideas and eagerly shares them with Chen. However, Chen, who is usually supportive, seems distracted and uninterested. Clara feels her ideas are being dismissed, and her initial excitement turns to frustration. She wonders if Chen is upset with her or if something else is bothering him. Clara thinks about what she can actually do right now -- she can take responsibility for her own effort, and she can also show care for her friend by asking what is going on. She considers whether to ask Chen directly about his mood or to keep putting her best work forward regardless. Clara now faces a choice: (A) Ask Chen if something is wrong, or (B) Choose to focus on her own effort and continue working.
