The Dilemma

Chen and Dana, both 12 years old, are classmates who often hang out together. One day, during recess, Chen notices a group of students teasing a new kid named Alex for his unusual accent and different style of clothing. Dana, who is usually kind, seems to be caught up in the moment and laughs along with the group. Chen feels uncomfortable watching Alex being bullied and remembers his parents' lessons about kindness and respect for everyone. Chen thinks about how Alex must feel and considers stepping in to help, but worries about being laughed at too. As the teasing continues, Chen sees Alex looking increasingly upset and isolated.
